Mixing Different MHz of RAM (RAM frequency)

Hey guys. I got a question. What if you mix different RAM frequency?

For example I got a 2gb RAM with 665 MHz and I put another 4gb RAM with 1600 MHz, what'll happen?

I am not a pro on this, and have never had to encounter this but probably the higher magahertz will run faster and smoother, but I would have thought that the motherboard has to use a specific type, it will either work or it will not work I would have thought, so you may as well try it, as long as the DDR number fits with the mobo, it should work alright.

First of all the motherboard has to support the sticks being used. Sounds like you are trying to use ddr2 - 667mhz and ddr3 - 1600mhz together, which you can't. They must be all the same type as either all ddr2 or all ddr3 depending on what your motherboard support. And if you use different speeds say 667 and 800 mhz together then the 800 mhz stick will run at 667 mhz speeds. Same thing goes for ddr3, all sticks will run at the slower speed if you don't use matching sticks.

No, but again, you have to make sure your are using the same type of memory. You can't insert ddr2 memory into ddr3 slots and vice versa, you will do memory or memory slot damage if you try.
