I have spent hours trying to find a sound driver for an old Packard Bell IGO 4451. Serial number 128510660122. I have tried various ones including both of the Packard Bell website. It is on Windows XP.

Please help

Thanks

Then maybe the driver isn't the problem. What happens when you install it? Nothing? Do you just have no sound? Do you get an error message?

Have you gone to Start-->Control Panel-->System-->Hardware tab-->Device Manager an checked to see if you have any yellow "!" or Red "X" next to any hardware entries?

What brought about this problem? Did you recently reinstall your OS? What are you using for an audio out? Laptop speakers? Headphones? PC Speakers? Is it possible the volume is just not turned up?

I tried to install it via the "Device Manager" aswell, there is a yellow "!" next to Multimedia Audio Controller and Unknown Device.

I recently reinstalled Windows XP on it and only have the audio driver to install left. It is updated to SP3.

I ran a program called "System Information for Windows" and saw that the PCI soundcard was SIS 7012 Audio Codec which I tried to install the driver too which gave some error messages.

I must have tried over 20 drivers and none have worked :(

right click on the yellow exclamtion point and select "uninstall" and then run the driver installer linked in my first post. I'll be back around 7:30CST
