microsoft outlook

Hello everyone ,
every time I boot up my computer a box appears with the following .
Microsoft outlook.
either there is no default client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request.
Please run microsoft outlook and set it as default mail client.
I do not know how to run microsoft out look so if this is the only way to stop it can anyone please help.

Is this Outlook Express or Outlook 2003 bundled with MS Office? If it's Outlook 2003 and you're not using it, you can go ahead and uninstall it.

Thanks for your reply .
i Looked at add and remove programs and i only could see microsoft 2000
I am not sure but I think it must be bundled in microsoft 2000 .but if I uninstall it will i loose such things as microsoft word and every thing else related to it .
As you can see i am not very good with the computer.

In the add/remove programs menu, click change/remove Office 2000. You will be given the option to uninstall Outlook only, leaving other apps like Word, Excel, etc. in place.
