Microphone Problem

Since I got my new mobo, my mic wont work. The sound manager that came with my motherboard (Sound Max) reads that I have the mic plugged in right... but whenever i go to use it, whether it be windows sound recorder or ventrillo, it cant pick up on the mic. The mic is not muted or anything... whats wrong?

could be the mic is busted. happened to me once with my old logitech headset. the mic just decided to stop working one day and so did the earphones a few days later. found out it happened to other people too.

oh then nvm.

it could be something wrong with the thing you input the mic in, dont know what its called. but wouldnt know how you'd check that.

Did you check the setting in Volume Control?
ya check the mic setting on that and make sure its selected.

I guess you shouldnt have upgraded your computer with all the problems your having ;). BTW, how much money did it cost?

Yes the settings in volume control are right.... and this whole upgrade cost $1100 or so... I am in debt with my dad up to my chin. I owe him $600

But this upgrade is definetly worth it :D

Well IMO, i wouldnt pay $600 for that. Anyways, are you able to listen to audio through the motherboard? if you cant its possible that its disables in BIOS.

i also just replaced my motherboard (its also an asus) and im having the same exact problem. im just about to buy a usb mic and see if that works. ill check the bios and see if for some reason its disabled.
