mic so low..

when i talk into my mic then play it back, i have to turn my speaker volume up so loud..why? all my sound control propteries are maxed out..it pisses me off.

I would suggest it is because you have the mic plugged into the line-in port instead of the mic port. When the signal enters the pc, it has to be amplified for it to reach properly audible levels. This only happens with a mic port. With a line-in connection, the pc assumes the signal is already amplified.

If this isn't the cause, I'm not sure what else could be.

Negative. I have it plugged into the rear pink jack in the back of my computer. And the settings on my computer I have rear mic checked for voice and sound recording. This is pissing me off .

does other sounds noises etc play very loud on the comp or is it only the mic playback?

Only the mic playback and I got a new mic. And it still does it.

Do you have another mike you could try it with? Are all the drivers, if any, updated? What type of microphone is it?
