so i have a nice mic, it's a music recording type i got from a music store, but it's made to hook up to a computer. worked with my old computer fine, but i hadn't tried it on this new one yet and just tried it last night and couldn't get it to work. i just have the mobo on-board sound with the gigabyte ds3 mobo. i plugged it into the mic part and when i hit "test mic" the only time any signal came through was when i plugged and unplugged the mic. talking in it did nothing. any guesses? i don't think the mic is broke as it worked fine on the last computer and has been in a case ever since.
