Media Players have no sound...

Hey guys here is a good one for you to explore. On my pc i'm running windows vista and when i open windows media player or real player there is no sound at all on video's. On the other hand all other sounds work on the computer and if i open up the virtual desktop that i have the xp version works any suggestions?

you need to download some codecs for your video player. try searching google.

Will they work on vista? and if so how do i know what ones to get?

You probably need Divx or Xvid, maybe some others, and yes, they will work on Vista.

try this, its a codec pack, so its got all the most common ones in it, and it says its compatible with vista, try it...

Hmm i downloaded them and now i have no sound and the video plays at like 10x normal speed lol also i forgot to add when i click to download a file now insdead of just doing it it now asks me to save it which is annoying
