Maxtor Replacement Power Supply

I have a Maxtor External Storage device, model # USB2040ROM001. I have lost the power supply in several moves. Does anyone know where I can find a replacement one?

Does the drive happen to list a voltage and amperage requirement? If so you can replace the power adapter with any that has the same voltage and at least the same amperage (you can safely exceed the amperage).

But a new external enclosure would be about $20 and be much easier to find.

It seems that the OP posted once then never returned...

It really would depend on what type of external power supply the Maxtor has as to whether you would have a chance at finding another at some place like Radio Shack. If the supply is a single voltage with a common connector then your chances would be high. However, if the connector is one of the round DIN type connectors with multiple pins and multiple voltages then it's doubtful Radio Shack would have a replacement.
