"make sure the disk is not full or write protected"

Hi there, I hope this is in the right section...

basically I got a new computer and now I'm trying to transfer all my music from the old one to this one. However, almost all the songs give me a "make sure the disk is not full or write protected" message. Is there a way to fix this? I have enabled file sharing and "allow users to change my files" or whatever exactly that box says. Does anyone know how to fix this? I really don't want to have to burn everything on DVDs.

You might have to take ownership of the old files/folders.

The most simple way for you is to copy them with external OS such as Ubuntu which you just boot from the disk so that you don't have to mess with Windows OS settings.
