My computer has A LOT of music, songs, videos, pictures, downloaded games and programs. I am giving it to my brother and I would like to basically wipe it clean. What is the easiest to get rid of everything on it and make it as new as possible? (Without buying anything lol) I'll take any and all advise! Thank you.
Jenn

I have a desktop computer...a hp.

My DELL computer has a system restore feature which wipes the hard drive and then installs all the preloaded software from the factory. So it's basically like new and the computer is back to the way it was when you first bought it. Try that, or just do a reformat of the hard drive and reinstall windows.

Hey JD
If you dont have the original OS disk, try revo uninstaller,Just delete everything like normal and then use that to permanatley delete all deleted files.
But best bet is to use instalation disk.

1. insert operating system cd/dvd
2. restart computer
3. press F2 or delete or whatever key you computer says to enter setup. (do this before the computer boots up.
4. in the bios setup menu change the boot order to make the computer boot from the cd/dvd drive first
5. restart
6. computer should start reading from the cd/dvd
7. go through all the prompts to setup windows on the computer
8. when asked say that "yes" you want to delete the current partition, and "yes" you want to create a new partition and "yes" you want to format that new partition, and yes you want to setup windows on that new partition.
9. Windows will install ad everything else will be gone
10. and BOOM SHAKALAKA goes the dynamite

make sure you backup any stuff you want to save like your music/games whatever.

I think konsoles instructions were pretty good. Just make sure there is nothing you want from it, else youl regret not checking!
