Hi, I recently built a new machine using the Asus M2N SLI Deluxe mobo. In general, it's been a good experience; the board booted right up out of the box, and it's been quick and stable. My one remaining problem is that I can only get stereo sound out of the onboard NVidia SoundMax sound system. The sound I get is clear; but there's no output through the second set of speakers. I've swapped speakers; the problem stays with the output port, and the new speakers work. I've checked the BIOS setting (set to AUTO); reinstalled the newest sound drivers from the Asus website; repeatedly unplugged and replugged in the connecting cables; and checked the system with the provided "Audio Wizard" software. The software detects the plugging and unplugging of the cables, so I'm led to believe that cabling isn't the problem. But the software's "test" function only outputs to the two "front" speakers, no matter whether I select stereo, quadraphonic, 5.1, or 7.1 audio.
Does anyone have a suggestion as to what I might have missed?
Thanks in advance.
