Low Sound In Headphones

Hi Guys I recently bought a Philips Headphone which gives good enough sound output but the problem is that when i plug it in my sony mp3 player or hi-fi system its loud enough but same output is not coming from pc and i like hearing loud music as my hard rock collection is in pc i really miss that loudness:(
Is there any kind of software available which could help in increasing the sound more than what pc offers ????????
I have the on board soundcard
 
Did you check everything in Volume Control? What OS are you using? What computer/soundcard do you have? Are you sure you plugged your headphones in the microphone jack if there's one (normal "Line Out" jack supposedly only outputs reference signal to be amplified, which may not be enough for the oomph you're looking for)?
 
also to the questions, case audio??? on the front of the case?? or straight out of the motherboard sound card.

Make sure you headphones are plugged into the green output
