lost everything after restoring

ok im not sure if this is the right place to post it, but if not go head and move it. I lost everything my pictures, music, and documents stuff when i restore the system and when i did that it somehow took me all the way back in 2006 when I first got my computer I don't know how it got that far back but before I did that I wasn't even thinking to save my music, pictures and documents. Does anybody know how I can get all that stuff back? I was mad when I did this and wish I never did this.
 
Did you use system restore? If you did you can "fast forawrd" it back to the latest restore point, with all your music and data.
 
well restore kinda means erase everything and 'restore' back to the original , just like new, computer. so it did what it was supposed to do.
 
But was it system restore or a reformat? If it wa ssystem restore you can restore it pretty much anywhere, depending on how often it created restore points.

If you reformatted, you're outta luck.
 
If you reformatted you could try GetDataBack.
But you will need a second drive to recover to.
It won't recover anything that was written over.
 
im not sure if it reformatted but it was some dell cd i used and i just put it in my computer thought maybe it will fix my computer since i had all the viruses, so i did that then i guess it did reformatted im not sure though. ill have to look at the cd and let you guys know which one i used. i just wish i never did that and wish i can get them all back. i wish there is a way to do that.
