If it is for DJing then i'd say get none other than Sennheiser HD25 SP's. They're not cheap, but its like buying decks - anything less than technics and its not worth it.

I've been through about 50 headphones, but my HD25's have lasted 6 or 7 years

Personally I'd stay away from Logitech headphones in general. I've gone through a pair of headphones a year and I purchase the 'mid to high' priced ones too. But my father's band uses Pioneers and they've had their headsets a long time and they sound great. HDJ- something something something.. I'll have to look next time :P

no, im not a dj. i just want to be able to listen to music and watch movies as loud and with a crapload of bass, like my stereo, without waking up my family.

SkullCandy are widely known to be awful in both build quality and performance.

If you want lots of bass, then something like the JVC HARX900s, Sennheiser HD280s, Sony MDR-XB700 or Ultrasone (I can't remember their model name exactly, but they're all pretty bass-heavy.)

Sennheiser HD202's if you want to go on the cheap. I have a pair and I highly recommend them.

They have bass, sure, but they have WAY too much of it. It's overpowering, and not tight, clean bass like you want; it's more like: "BOOOM!!!!!!", with little detail for everything else.

Oh, and also: Don't get any Logitech audio equipment if audio quality is important to you. I've found all of their stuff (even the Z-5500s) to be lacking in audio quality, and their bass to be way overpowering and muddy - not good.

In fact, don't get any surround headsets at all... They're all awful in terms of audio quality. A good pair of stereo headphones like the Sennheiser HD555s or ATH-AD700s are much superior for gaming, due to their large soundstage. If you wanted closed back gaming headphones, then the JVC RX900s would be a good choice, and you can add a Zalman Clip-On mic to effectively make them a headset.

You really want it to be overpowering and muddy?

All the other headphones there have bass in quantity, but they also have clarity, unlike the 202s.

Probably no point me telling you this now but I have Sennheiser HD212Pro's and they are amazing, loads of bass and very clear sound. Seeing I think these are good I can't imagine what the high end Sennheiser's must be like.

I'm guessing you're not an audiophile, then.

Ask at a good audio forum like HeadFi, and they'll set you straight on headphones. :p

nope, sound quality is amazing. obviously you have never used them. they are wayyy better than my friends sennheiser 202's

I've used a few pairs of SkullCandy headphones (an audio shop called Audio Gold has them), the highest-end models they had in were ~£60, and I tried them out and found them to be severely lacking... Some Sennheiser headphones in the same price bracket sounded so much better, trust me.

If you still don't believe me, ask on HeadFi whether SkullCandy are good... I'm not an audio expert by a long shot, but I know enough to get by. On the other hand, HeadFi are probably the biggest collection of audiophiles/audio enthusiasts on the web, and have a wealth of information there, as well as lots of equipment for sale, etc. It's a great forum if you're looking for some audio discussion. I joined, but I mostly lurk for now, since I'm a little out of my depth.

ohai meti
I tired out skully candies $70 headphones, and all it was was bass. couldn't hear anything else bedsides that. Really bad quality when you turned bass boost off too.

well different people like different amounts of bass/treble and i tried several pairs and like these the best.
