Has anyone ever known anyone who lives in an apartment complex with free internet floating in the airwaves.. thats funny stuff. My buddy had free internet for almost 2 years...

anyways make sure u use wep damnit.... :D

LOL, I've heard of people stealing the service from Starbucks or some other free service(well it was free on the review so this might of been in London or something...cost money here) Anyway they got a really strong antenna and just pointed it in the direction of the store and had free internet ;) I hope when I move out of here it's the same ;P

tut tut, i have a lot of wireless network in my area, if i wanted i could crack the weps and use the net for free, but then i doubt they are very fast, or as fast as i need

Lol

U know this is illegal right? Instead of using just WEP, use MAC identification as well in order to make sure it's harder to hack. It does not take a genius to realise that someone is using the connection with the right software and a bit of intelligence. As with the anterna, I have a 24dB one which is huge and I am connected to a guy who is 1.6 Km away from me without a problem. The antennas usually used in shops/restaurants etc... are omnidirectional (meaning they emitt signals in 360 degrees). Unlike some...I pay for it. Anyway...this thread is suspicious.

damn straight i know it illegal, i was just saying that i could be done. I wouldn't do it cause i know that i would get well mad if someone was knicking my bandwidth. Ezekiel 25:17 :D :D

this thread is suspicious.
he he, true

You know, while I was in London, there was a free, LEGAL wifi AP near my room. How do I know it was free? I wish I could remember exactly what it's SSID was, but I did a quick search on it and found they had various spots over London providing free net. So, it's not all bad :P

bugger i live in london, maybe useful if there in starbucks and i can surf while chilling out. Not come across it before but then i've never looked

In the states, it's like $.10 a MINUTE to use their service! It's crazy! You'd be better off just looking around for some other service like I managed to find. Or check around the tube. If I remember correctly, they had some service around there. I just never checked with my PDA... Of course, it's going to be harder for me to look now as I no longer have my PDA. Care to find me a good place to get online for when I'll be there this August ;) Not sure if I'll be able to this time from my Hotel ;P
