logitech z2300 VS ALTEC MX5021

Title says it all, which is better all around? It seems as though the Logitech would be louder and make more bass, where the Altec has better sound quality. Is this true? I want something (in a 2.1) that sounds amazing, yet has enough bass to keep the guy below me awake all night. The only purpose for these speakers will be to listen to music through intigrated laptop audio. I ruled out a Klipsch because I dont like the midrange/highs.

I'd probably go with the Altecs. My bro has a set similar to the ones you're looking at and he loves them, good bass, excellent sound.
 
Logitech z2300 all the way! I have them and they sound crystal clear with an x fi soundcard i couldn't reccomend them enough!!!!!
