Logitech X-240 Speakers

I've recently purchased the Logitech X-240 Speaker system, and put basically followed the small and simple installation guide, about how to fix it up. But i'm having some problems.

I'm using a laptop and when I plug the green audio cable into my output, No matter what the volume, I get some weird fuzzy sound, like as though something is set to really high volume, yet I've turned down my master volume all the way.

I attached the speakers to a friends laptop, which is a few years older than mine, and it worked superbly. Which makes me think it can't be my soundcard. I've gone into control panel and set everything in the sound and audio device manger to the same as my friends, yet no luck.

Another thing I find interesting is, that even though I've got the new logitech speakers, there's no way of setting them to my default speakers, I have to stay with Intel(r) Intergrated Audio. I'm guessing this maybe causing the problem.

It would be great if anyone could shed some light on this,

hmm i have those speakers also and they are great...all i can think of is have you updated or re-installed your sound drivers?

Yeah, one of the first things I did was try for an update. Which was basically just a reinstall of my original drivers.

I've noticed that the sound its making is also the sound the speakers make when you touch the end of the green wire.

Its fine when something is playing, but when nothing is on, the sound gets kind of tedious! I hope there's a way to fix it.

Windows Vista has had problems with sound drivers....

I'm an XP Pro user.

I also just plugged my speakers into my ipod nano and everything is peachy! Could it be that the nano has a better soundcard as such than my machine. Hmm, I also plugged headphones into my computer output port and can still hear the interferance fuzzy noise.

I have no idea what it could be, makes me sad!
