Logitech Quickcam - slow motion sound problem

Hi

My friend has bought a new Logitech Quickcam (not sure wich one) and an independent mic comes with it in the box.

She has Windows 2000 and when we start talking with our webcams, we can see each other, I can speak to her, she hear me, but when she talks to me, I hear her voice in slowmotion. I don't know what's the problem, we've tried a lot of things, but unfortunatly we couldn't get to the problem.

Sorry if my english is bad, I'm not a native english :P

I would really appreciate if someone could help me out with this! :)

Thanks in advance, Js.

Fortunately, there's only one type of Quickcam. As far as the technical problems, what is her connection type and have her run a test on one of the servers listed at this website:

More than likely, her bandwith isn't keeping up with her transmission rate. I know that when I'm on a VOIP call, I can still hear the other person fine, but if the bandwith is going bad, then the other person just gets a choppy and slow motion response as you described.

As far as ways to fix it, make sure that she has everything else that can be taking up bandwith shut down. Or, she might just want to use the audio only and not use the video camera.

Thanks a lot, I will try to fix this with her.

By the way, if she still has a slow and choppy voice, is the only other solution is for her to get a better computer??

Thanks again!

Maybe, but I'd still wait to see what the connection results are. If her connection is slow, then gettin' a better computer won't do anything... (maybe time to upgrade the connection ;))
