location of soundcard

hey, im looking through my case and cant see my soundcard in the slot that i thought it should be in. i thought that it should be in the slots where pci, and netcard going down in a row. is there another spot that it could be?

You could have integrated sound that is integrated onto your motherboard. you were looking in the right spot but if you cant find it then you probably have integrated sound on your motherboard.
 
If you have you're case open and you don't see a sound card then it's probably integrated...Basically, you have no sound card, just some integrated sound that most, if not all, mobos come with.

alright, so if sound isonly coming out of 1 speaker or headphone, is that becuase of the quality of the sound card? do you suggest getting another sound card that is not intergrated?
