Local Area Connection icon disappears after logging on to Domain

Hi guys,

i hav got a setup which somone was managing. its Win2003 setup

I hav got this problem, the Networkwork connection icon disappears frm the My network Neighbourhood properties after logging on the domain.

i knw that its not a problem but the administrator b 4 me might hav put som security policy in order to prevent user to change the IP settings.

but sadly i dont knw wats the policy so that i can revert it bak.

if ny1 knws pls replay.

If its what I think it is go to Network Connection page. Right click the properties of your wired nic card. You should come to a scree similar to the one below.

Make sure the check box that says "Show icon in notification area when Im connected". That should fix it if you are having the problem I think it is.

buddy...
i ddnt mean to show connection icon in the system tray...

i want my wired(nic) card icon on the network connection page.
it disappears after i log on the domain...that means in the domain som policy is ther to hide this NIC properties..
i want to knw what is that policy which hide the NIC icon frm the network connection page.
