Linksy's Wireless Router Help

I've just bought a Linksy's wireless g adsl home gateway. I follow the setup from the cd and configure to suit tiscali broadband. But it cannot find any internet signal. Though my internet works fine using just my adsl modem.
The router is supposed to have a built in adsl modem so shouldn't this be picking the signal up?
Without finding a signal i cannot complete instillation.

If it is a router, then this will have what you call a "modem built in" If it is just an access point then it will not.

i know it may sound silly, but make sure that the wireless point/router has power and is turned on :)

Also, how far away from the wireless point is the computer your trying to connect to it?

It says on the box:

Linksy's wireless - G Adsl Home Gateway.

(ADSL2+ Modem, Internet sharing router, 4 port switch and wireless g access point in one box!)

So i'm pretty it has it's own modem.

And yes the power is on. And for the instillation i am linking the router directly to the computer via an ethernet, then when installed i will think about wireless. I think you have to do it this way anyway.

I have made a little progress. I have now completed the installatiion, because the internet light actually light up on the router temporarily, which allowed me to configure it. I have entered all of the details the setup tells me to and i have checked with tiscali but i cannot connect to the internet with the router still. I have a faint light on the router where internet is displayed, but not enough it seems to allow me to connect.

I also get a error message from windows saying limited connectivity or somethign.

I have tried reconfiguring the router using the 192.168.1.1 on the web (via old modem) but i cannot get past the log on screen. I have tried using admin etc but none work.

Thanks for any replies.
