Ive recentley purchased a Linksys router. I set it up and got it running perfect with my other computer running fine also. Everything seemed to be going fine, still fast connections on both computers and i am very pleased with it.
But i ran into a problem with online games, Steam products in particular ( counterstrike, Day of defeat etc). I go to join a server and i join fine with good rates, but out of nowere within 30 seconds i am booted back to the main menu. Now i cannot figure out the problem, ive forwarded ports 1200,27000-27015,27020-27039 and enabled Protocol TCP and Protocol UDP but with no ip adress.
now im not sure if you guys now what im referring to so here is the page i got most of my info off of
http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Linksys/BEFSR41v2/Counter_Strike.htm
Hopefullly some of you guys are familiar with the linksys router, i am in a sticky situation and miss playing counterstrike
Also with regards to the page i linked to, i never followed the first step as to creating a static ip, i am not sure as to what this will do, will i have to set up one for my other comp? should i follow this first step if i want the port forwarding to work, i never thought it would matter
Thanks for your help
