Limiting Wireless Activity or Bandwidth

Does anyone know if it is possible to restrict wireless bandwidth on your home network? I plan to share my connection to a few other family members, but I don't want to have their internet activity bog my connection speed down. I'm not concerned with internet activity; I just don't want major slowdowns, such as P2P connections, major file downloads, etc.

Is there a way to cap the kb/sec of the total of any connections other than my own? Also, what would you do if you were trying to accomplish something similar to what I'm saying? Thanks.

log into your router and look around for settings that will let you do it, some let you adjust the speed of the different IP's that connect to it (my belkin does), but this will only work if each comp running wirelessly has a set IP for the network

I'll have to check that out. Thanks.
