Lengthening the cable to the PC?

I want to move my computer 3 feet more away from the connection. I have some extra cable. I was wondering if there is a way that I can splice the 2 cables together?

Are you talking about the Coax cable or your Cat 5/Ethernet cable.

Connect the two together

Go buy a longer ethernet cable. By splicing into the cable you lose the integrity of the cable and will get interference and might lose connection. Cables are cheap these days. It's even cheaper if you know of someone that can make cables, its easy to do if you have the right tool.
