Left Speaker Playing Static

I am having problems with my sound.
It first started a couple of months ago when I was listening to music on my computer the left speaker suddenly cut out and started playing static, no sound from what I could hear just static - the right speaker played it just fine.

So I bought new speakers (Logitech X-530) thinking that it was just that the left one had blown as it happened when I was using them. So plugged them all in - wasn't expecting the surround sound to work because I only had a 2 channel sound card - there's still static.

So now I buy a new 6 Channel sound card and plug it in - change the settings over in audio settings and the problem still persists.

Any ideas?

I Really Miss My Music!!!

Same Cable

Nope, not using the same cable...
I am using all cables and all going to different things, am I understanding the question right?
All cables are color coded and am using all of them in the holes that are of the same color!

I think he is asking, are you using the same cable that came with your old speakers or a new one, to plug the speakers into your sound card?

Also, what program are you using to listen to music? Does it happen when you use other programs?

No all new cables being used, but I will try using a different program it may be that!
Thanks...
Will let you all know what difference a new program makes!

Speakers Fixed!!!

Just thought I would let you all know that the speaker problem has been fixed. I switched around the right and left plugs and now it plays fine through windows media player... still doesn't play right in iTunes but will reinstall that and see if that makes a difference thanks for all the help!

could be minor electromagnetic interference from stuff like microwaves or TV aerials causing it to play static, but very unlikely.
