Laptop wireless connection not recognized

I have a new laptop that is currently connected to my wireless network. I had no problems previously connecting to the internet with this laptop in the last 2 weeks. My desktop acknowledges the laptop on the network. But all of a sudden, I cannot access the internet on the laptop. When I go to the Network connections control panel, it says that there are no wireless connections available. But it is obviously connected. I've tried to repair the connection, and it says it was successful, but still no luck. Has anyone had this problem before? Any suggestions?
