Laptop OS Not logon in

Hello ppl.

Please i need some help. I have a laptop a compaq presario 2100. i cant seem to log on to windows. its gets to the stage where it the windows loads and stops at the windows logon blue screen. and it stay there nothing happens.

what can i do to fix this problem???

any help would be greatful

I didnt install any hardware. It just came up when a friend started using my computer.

Any solution???

Nothing works. Safemode nor Restore or any option under F8. I am gonna try to option stated above Perform a Repair Installation. and see what happens.

its not working.. nothing seems to work with the options u guys gave me..

i have presonal files that cant be deleted. i would have formated and went on with life.. but pls i need more options

If you have a cd-burner you can use the burning software in knoppix to get your information. It will also allow you to use usb drives. If Knoppix dose not work you might have a hardware problem. That might be your ram or your hard drive.
