Laptop Help!

i have a Gateway Solo 2500 and i have been fixing it up for my step dad so we can just use it for internet. I recently bought a Linksys Wireless card to use for the laptop. I installed the software for it and the Wireless card "says" it is connected, yet when i try to go to the internet it has the "Page Not Found" screen! What is up?!

You could try checking that laptop card is set to obtain an IP address automatically. Also check if your router (or wireless access point? - not sure what your setup is for your home network) has any security enabled on it, such as WEP or WPA? If so, then you may need to enter any security encryption keys required before the laptop will be able to access the internet. Would start with checking the IP address and default gateway settings are correct.
