Laptop External Sound Card

I'm looking for an external sound card with an optical-out connection for my laptop.I have free Firewire, Expresscard 34/54 slot and if necessary a usb port... does such a device exists? If not, is there a way to convert green, orange, black audio connections to coaxial or optical audio. I realize I'd be converting analog to digital so that might no be possible...
