laptop + cellphone = internet

hi i have an Audiovox CDM8600BA and a hp laptop i am wondering if somehow i could have internet on the laptop

Are you saying you have internet access on your cell phone and want it to be on your laptop as well? It won't work to try to get internet access through your wireless phone provider for your laptop. You have to contact a local ISP (Internet Service Provider) to check out the options for internet access for your laptop.

I've heard of Cellphone to PDA internet sharing (they sell wires that connect the 2) but never cellphone to laptop.

I used to use my cell as a modem through Sprint PCS a few years back. But it was painfully slow, much slower than a land line modem.

I heard that they have different types of services, anywhere from slower then dial up to around 250K+. I think all you have to do is hook up your pc to your cellphone with a special cord. Although the prices are usually astronomically high.

loads of phone support this featre, i use it on my mobile phone but it thourgh the infa red port, which is a bugger if you knock it half way through a download. Or you could pick up a grms card? they work think mobiles so you'l always get a signal

just looked at the manual from

and i dont think is supports it, the idea is that if your phone has a infa red port, or you can hook it to your pc, then you laptop should reconginse it as a modem and use it as such, you may need to talk to your provider. But then you'd need the right kind of phone first
