I recently bought a VAIO laptop and wanted to connect it to the network that we have through the router, and the problem is that I can connect to the internet through the router, but not to any of the shared folders in any of the other computers we have, can somebody tell me how to access the others?

Right click my computer. properties. Under the computername tab make sure the workgorup is the same as the other pcs. Make sure the WINXP firewall is off, as this will block it also.

Then run the wizard for sharing. (from my network places)

It's a Norton Internet Security problem probably...

These Vaio's come with Norton Internet Security installed. Norton needs to be configured for network access. This home networking troubleshooter page tells you what to do to fix this:
