Have any of you tried the Devolo products (or similar) which allow you to create a network on the power line? Is it easy to configure? Are there any downsides? I am asking this since a friend asked me to create a Wi-Fi network for her, but they often take very long to set-up (very complicated) and she has to connect PCs on two floors. Well?

power line networks, i have seen 2wires, ...never brave enough to try it.
if you are creating a "WI FI " why are you bothering with a power line network ?

oh you are saying wi fi takes a long time to set up...also signal quality varies from place to place. I am not sure what to think of power line networks. I think 2 wire has dropped theirs. I just can not get past plugging a nic into your ac, i know they have an isollation transformer, i just do not know what to say. wireless is not that bad....how old a house, can't run cat 5 cable ?
