Kinda worried about this.....

I'm getting a Foxconn NF4K8MC-ERS PCI-E motherboard with onboard 5.1 surround sound, not the greatest motherboard around, but when I go to newegg to look at the pictures of it the onboard sound does not have the yellow and black plug-ins for the speakers. So, how can it have 5.1 surround sound???? I am getting Cintre RW-6510 5.1 Surround Sound Speakers and on Tiger Direct it says "This 5.1 CH speaker had add enhanced function allow 2 channel audio system to virtualizes as 5.1 channel system"...... so does this mean that I will be able to use these speakers with my onboard sound???

From what I can see on the pcitures, there is a green, red, and blue adio port. You should be able to hook your speakers up there, to the green port. I believe the other ones are for other audio devices, like a microphone. Depending on what type off conncetions your speakers have, will depend if they can be connected.

Ya that's what I'm worried about, since usually surround sound speakers need the yellow and black ports. The thing that I got from tiger direct saying that "This 5.1 CH speaker had add enhanced function allow 2 channel audio system to virtualizes as 5.1 channel system" maybe means it has the hook-ups of a 2.1 system but performs as a 5.1 system since there are 5 speakers.

Thats the way I would read it. Makes things complicated, lol, doesnt make much sense either. Try contacting newegg and asking them, they have pretty good customer support, so you should be able to get some help from them.

Or, if your willing to cash out a few extra bucks, just get a sound card, the on board audio usualy isnt too good anyway.

Hmmmm.... perhaps you are right. When i get my PC i will see if it works. If not, then I'll just go and buy a sound card.
