Kind of a strange question I guess..

I had a question about soundcards which may or may not make sense but here goes. I was wondering what the benefits of using more than one audio card would be if anything? Can you link them together like with sli and crossfire, doubling your performance for audio? Or maybe for a backup audio source? I figured since you can boost performance with other stuff that goes on your pci lanes why not these too. Thanks in advance!

It doesn't boost performance, no. But people who DJ or record can use multiple cards to mix things together.

The issue I see is that you can only select one audio output at a time in windows settings.
