Just a warning about a virus spreading!

okay so my stepmom gave me a lecture on some new virus, that was on the daily mail UK, ive added the link down below.

all ive gathered is, that it is an ordinary Spam mail but if you open the mail the virus attacks already instead of opening the mail and clicking the link in it.

just thought to send a warning out and spread the word.

The best medicine is don't open any emails from places and people you don't know, always has been. Immediately delete the email as soon as you get it.
 
yeah i do that anyway. but i just thought to spread the word a little, there are always a few people who open them anyway
 
well at the moment the only way is to delete all spam messages, there isnt a concrete defence against it
 
What about email programs like thunderbird that automatically open a preview of the message when you click the title. Should I just try to delete it as fast as I can before it tries to read it?
 
no as long as you dont physically click it to read all of the content your fine. but id just delete it straight away just in case

The Daily Mail is always "looking" for a story and NEVER lets the truth get in the way.

"The new emails - dubbed 'drive-by emails' - have been detected 'in the wild' by computer researchers Eleven Research Team.
'This driveby spam automatically downloads malware when the e-mail is opened in the e-mail client,' says Eleven Research Team"

Its amazing that if you go on the "Eleven Research Team"s website there latest news comes from November and is nothing to do with these emails.

I'm not saying its not possible to do this with emails but please take anything that the Daily Mail publish with a very large pinch of salt.
