Soo, i have been having a serious issue lately with my pc randomly freezing, it does not bsod, until today that is. I got my first BSOD. And it freezes without warning, oddly when the pc is idle usually. I play games like Skyrim, LOL, Rage, other random steam games. Never froze during gameplay. Setup is in my siggy. I have also de-clocked my CPU and GPU to default settings. My ram NEVER works on 1600. it almost instantly freezes, with proper timings and voltage. When i clocked my ram to 1600 it would BSOD constantly siting memory controller being the issue. Here is the info i got from the crash report, if you need more info let me know. Thanks in advance!

Also forgot to mention, i have run memtest many times with no errors. I have also done other benchmarking programs on cpu/ram/gpu ect. all the tests indicate nothing is wrong. So i'm not sure what else to try. Temps also stay fine, it has CM N520 cooler and the case is fully stocked with fans. The thing froze again while i was typing this thing out, grr.

I've looked around and noticed a pattern of people posting up the full BSOD report, so i guess i'll go ahead and do that.

people say they ran memtest, but never specify how long. id recommend running for at least 16 hours, 24 if you can manage, to verify that there is nothing wrong with the system memory. your running alot of clocked stuff, and the 460 is heavily overclocked, have you tested it with OCCT for errors?

I have ran memtest a few times, longest i let it run was maybe 6-8 hours. I'll leave it on all night and see what happens. The CPU and GPU aren't overclocked anymore, after it froze a few times i declocked to see if it was the issue, but it kept going. I have used Burn in test and Prime95 to test for stability. I left burn in test going maybe 10ish hours, never went above 60C on CPU and had 0 errors. I don't recall temp on GPU but i know it was fine on all of my tests also. I have never used OCCT before, however i just downloaded it and will try it. Not sure if i should do memtest or OCCT tonight.

That PSU is suspect in my opinion, but until that is confirmed I would reinstall windows, thus ensuring this is not a OS issue.

I ran the PSU test for an hour, i can post the results if you would like. i'm going to let it run all night. Something that worried me about the PSU was when i flip the switch to the off position and hit the power button to drain power, it works just fine. i'll install/uninstall whatever/clean it ect. When i hit the switch back to the on position...it almost never turns back on. I have to play with the switch, on/off/on/off, then wait. It always turns on eventually, and when it boots up it will boot up normally every time until i hit the switch. Never had a PSU do that before, and i've built quite a few PC's for freinds/family. Just a thought, maybe it is normal and i'm ignorant :p This windows install isn't even that old really, my HDD died on me so i bought the SSD and did a fresh install. I will refresh windows soon if nothing else solves the problem.

A few things off the bat here.

1. The bluescreen on 7-30-12 was due to your video card driver.

2. I would replace the psu as that is not normal behavior and that is not a good unit at all to be running a gtx 460 with.

3. I would like for you to zip up the files in your minidump folder and attach the zip file to your next reply. They will be in C:\windows\minidump

The last bluescreen you had was involving league of legends. I'm assuming this is hardware related as the next blue screen involved prime 95.

First thing to do would be to replace the psu. If the bluescreens continue, then try a different video card.

I am looking at the NZXT Hale82 650 watt, opinions? All the stats are way better than my current one, and at 80 bucks it is still doable. I let the OCCT program run while i was asleep, it lasted 9 hours 13 minutes on the PSU test, then the program crashed. I am not sure if it had an error and recovered or what, as i was asleep. My pc was still on and functional, just had to force shut down of the test. I hope it is not my GPU, it is out of warranty. I guess i will purchase a 660 if that is the case. Of course if i do i'll need the PSU anyway, that will be pricey.
