ok can someone recommend a good set of speakers that aren't too expensive to go along with this set up that are more so for audio recording/producing....or atleast just answer me this, I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter, but can any set of speakers go along with this set up? in other words am i limited to certain speakers?

I can recommend you some speakers...but they will be expensive. You said you wanted to keep costs down.

This is why, the sound card you have chosen is 7.1 channels. All you can really get is 5.1 channel speakers. If you get anything less than 5.1 channel speakers, you might as well just use the on board sound from the motherboard. The cheapest decent 5.1 channel speakers you can find are around $80 pretty much anywhere on the web.

Now...you can run 2.1 channel audio and still have good sound quality. I have the Logitech X 230 set and they pound my computer room, awesome set of speakers. But with you doing "audio recording/producing" you should go for a good 5.1 channel set.

how much are the one's you were going to recomend? i'm willing to go a little higher than $80...maybe up to $200 or a few bucks over

or matter of fact i just looked up some 5.1's wow....i think i might just stick with my onboard sound...so what speakers would you recommend for that?

I don't see what's so great about sound cards... thank you SCOUT I've been looking for that speaker system for a while, and for some odd reason, it wouldn't come up under my searches.
