Welcome to Computerforum :)

Yes that's will run 7 just fine,Have you considered building your own pc though?,You could get better components by building your own :)

Btw 8Gb is total overkill on the ram,Its just not needed at this moment in time.

I take it this is an OEM system, then? Like from Dell or HP or someplace like that? What model is it?

It's a fairly decent computer for browsing the internet and whatnot, and Win7 will run on darned near anything, but don't expect to do any gaming or anything on it. Integrated Intel graphics are terrible. (browser games and the like will be fine...)
8Gb of RAM will in no way be useful to you now, but if you don't mind paying for it and plan to keep the computer for a long time, there's no harm in having it around...saves you an upgrade later on.

Also, a tip, whatever you get, don't get it from Best Buy(saw the name in there)...they overcharge like no other on most things.

edit: I find it amusing that they list its "desktop types" (wtf?) as "premium". That system has no discrete graphics, and a cpu that's not even middle-of-the-pack when it comes to Intel's new stuff. That's an average mainstream system...
