Hi all,

I just got this blackberry storm 9500. Is there a way that I can verify this phone is not a knock off? It is an unlocked phone,I can't connect to blackberry internet service even my carrier charged me. I wonder if this may cause by the recent server problem RIM encountered or because the phone is not a genuine phone?

Thank you.

That's a sure sign that it is genuine.. if it doesn't connect and has multiple other problems, its most likely real.

Seriously though, check under Options--> About and you can make sure it has an OS version number. Also you can check under Options--> Status and make sure it has an IMEI and a PIN number.

Saw this on a BB forum.

Did you pick it from the bush? If not, there isnt much chance of knowing if its genuine or not :D :D :D :D :D

If you didn't bought your phone from the carrier, sometime you wonder what happen, There is so many knockoff these days you don't even know who to trust. I don't know about England, but in Jamaica the carrier charge the phone about twice as much as the outsider or swrap shop in Florida.
Sometime we got good deals and sometime we got knockoffs. Way of life.:D:P

I need to get one Blackberry Tourch unlocked 9850, Can someone point me a good dealer in the US?

Thank you..:D:cool:
