Is there a log for windows actions?

Hi,

My friend is thinks someone has stolen some data from his computer via a flash drive. He asked me if I could find out what information have been copied from his compter t othat flash drive. He uses windows xp.

Is there any kind of log in windows so that to find out such thing?
 
tbh i don't think there is but if he has *My Recent Documents* it should recorded every file accessed and what time so you should be able to work out what time you where on and when you were not to see when it was opened
 
I'm just curious what the situation is casue if someone has stolen data off hsi computer once it could happen again. He may want to prevent it.
