so i just built this new gaming computer and i have hade some troubles playing some games in high graphics they get all choppy when moving the mouse around. They load up pretty quick, everything on the comp does its just this choppiness that bugs me. I have also done some research and found that vista can make games run slower then xp. I played the game world in conflict and did the benchmark and the average fps in very high graphics was 28. I also found it weird that windows only sees 2.5gb of ram when i have 4gb in the mainboard. And i thought that the 9800gt was suppose to be a very good graphics card and run games very smooth. So is any of this normal for considering the specs of my comp? and how could i make it better if this is the case?

These are the specs of my comp:

-Gigabyte EP43-UD3L Motherboard
- OCZ SLI 4096MB PC6400 DDR2 800MHz (2x2048MB)
-Intel Core 2 Duo E7400 2.8Ghz 3MB 1066FSB CPU
-XFX GeForce 9800 GT 512MB PCIe w/Dual Link DVI ( note that i have not ugraded the drivers on this card)
-Windows vista

The reason for the RAM problem, is your Vista 32-bit or 64-bit? If it's 32-bit, then that's the problem. 32-bit OS can regonize less than 4gigs of RAM.

I'm searching about Vista making games run slow, but I think that isn't true. I'm running Vista, and everything's fine for me. Maybe you should upgrade your driver? There's no reason to wait.
**Did a search, and found this. According to the benchmarks here, you're right about games running slower on Vista. Going to check out some other sites. And note that these benchmarks were taken 2 years ago.

**This benchmark was taken in 2008, and the results are WAY better than the one in the last link. Vista SP1 wins in these
