I'm planning to buy a new computer and i heard that fry's sells computers cheaper than other companies. but i also heard they sell it cheaper because the are parts are used parts that have been "restored." Is fry's products trustworthy and do you think i should buy a computer from fry's? thanks for your input.

(i do not want to order online such as newegg or tigerdirect, so please dont suggest it):)

Fry's is just a retail store like Best Buy or Cirtcut City, they dont make computers they just sell them like HP, Compaq ect...

Frys electronics store is ok for buying parts. I don't think I would purchase a built system from them. But if your buying a name brand like HP then they shouldn't be to bad.

I have seen used parts on sale there mixed in with new parts, the only way you could tell the difference is that the used ones have a very small sticker on the package saying that these were returned parts, same price as the new ones, so be careful.

Ordering your parts online from a place like www.newegg.com will get you better prices for individual parts, even including shipping.

I have built every system I have owned except for my first one which was back in 1995 or so. I knew nothing about computers at that time. But it has been fun learning and building my own since then. I have about 24 systems under my belt now, all for friends or realitives.
