iPod--->server

Hey guys it has been a long time sence i have been on. i have been trying to rebuild my 68 mustang and goimg to school, just a big hasel...

any way i just got an i pod fo X-mas (sweet) and i have a server just sitting around (nothing fancy or any thing) and want to stick all the music and stuff on that then acsess it through my laptop upstarirs (so i dont have to go up and down in the bacement just to update my songs). i have a network set up through out the house and want to add this in to the mix. what do i need to do?, iven if u pint me in the right direction would be great.....

All you have to do is use the "home or small office network" wizard on both computers and set the computer in the basement to allow sharing of files... Go to the properties of the folder with all of the music, go to the sharing tab and share the folder. Then you will be able to access that folder from your laptop....
