ipod Nano

My old man found a 4GB Silver Ipod Nano 2nd Gen (least I think its a nano) model # A1199.
He decided to make it his work player which I doubt he will ever use but since he wants it I gotta find a charger / usb cable to put files on it.
The snag is I really don't keep up with Apple so had a a question and if possible any newegg links to charger/cables would be appreciated (not sure if a 5th generation would work on a 2nd generation etc etc)

Simplest question of all is this nano like a drag/drop for music? Such as the Sansa Fuze (options for DRM music and no DRM music) Between my sister/uncles/myself we own enough CD's to fill 4GB without hesitation so I don't want to be conned into paying for it AGAIN via Itunes is why I ask.

Thank you :)

With all iPod models you can drag and drop music/rip CD's into iTunes, with regards to your charger, if it is an ipod nano, then try
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-iPod-Nano...nnectors_RL&hash=item2305468344#ht_1892wt_836
I'm sorry it's a UK site, but I think the seller also stocks in the US
:) It's only a USB charger though :P it was the only thing I could find that would do 2nd gen :/
Sorry 'bout that, newegg didn't really have much in the way of second-generation-ipod-nano-chargers
:)

The cable you linked to is for an iPod shuffle. All iPods and iPhones use the same cable except for the shuffle.

What he would want would be this:

Uh-huh. Sorry, but he said "I think it's a nano." I thought something was fishy when he said it was 4GB

:)

Well least we figured that out :P

Anyways thinking this.

While I have to question the price I bought my Sansa Fuze kit for $9.99 and almost 2 years later still works well. (wall charger / arm band / protective case / sync cable)

Then add on a protective case
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000LRHST8/ref=ord_cart_shr?ie=UTF8&m=AX0B55U39CFKC

The thing I question on the above link is the optional "new" shows them for $4 shipped vs Amazon $32 why such a difference in price?

Well nvm I found my solution. He found a charger/cable yesterday night so I bought him a skin/belt hook so everything is gravy now.

Thanks for the help fellas.
