IP lost

I can't remember the IP of my modem/router. I'm pretty sure it's 192.168.1.1 but I can't access it thru my web browser.

BUMP: It is 192.168.1.1, but I am refused access when I try to access it thru the browser. This changes the problem to "How do I get in"

Try a hard reset of the modem/router... There should be a button you press with a safety pen. It will reset all settings though..

I'm trying not to hard-reset the modem. I have considered this option but if possible, I'd like to try something else. Thanks for your input!

Hit start then run and type in cmd. This will bring up a dos prompt, Then type in "ipconfig" and hit return. That will tell you your ip address and gateway and subnetmask. To reset it type "ipconfig /release".....after it's all 0's then type in "ipconfig /renew". This will not change any of your settings. Peace

Also a soft reboot will not change your settings but a hard one will.
