IP address

is there any way to change the IP address with out having a ethernet internet connection?
because i have a home network that needs an IP address for me to share my files and all I have is Dial-up

Ok well I have a network set up for sharing the internet and for sharing files and I have Dialup, do you want to do both?

dialup changes everytime you reconnect so... you dont have to worry about that one.

dial up uses PPP protocol

you can still use a home network with dial up internet

ethernet is required for intercomputer connection, tho.

but you could use ethernet to share the connection from one computer with the entire network (keep in mind this is going to be SLOOOOW)

you basically need to set up your computer with the internet connection as a server
