Internet on a laptop does not work...

The internet all of the sudden stopped working. And I have NO idea why... The I just turned the laptop off, and the next day I turned it back on, and it stopped working... It's fairly new too. Do you think it's a power surge? Can you give me suggestions of what's happening?

Wireless or wired? Going though another computer or though a router? Do you have a connection and/or wireless signal?
