Internet connection problem

I just installed winxp home yesterday and everything worked perfect. My ping was good in gaming and everything. Now about 1 hour ago my internet is not working right or something. When im playing a gamem it says connection problems, so i tried internet explorer and it didnt work. I also tried other programs to see if i can connect and nothing happens. If the cable was unplugged then it will warn me on the bottom right saying that its unplugged but everything is plugged. To get my internet working again i had to disable my network through control panel and enable it again then it'll work. But after about 5-10 minutes later it happens again, then i have to re-enable network connection. I also got higher ping gaming now. Im on a wireless network but im using a normal cable but my roommate's using a wireless connection and his internet is fine. Any ideas?
 
hmm, maby your router is restarting by it self, i had a d-link router that restarted by it self every so often. Did you try going to the settings of ur router and inspecting them? You can try this: go to start> run> type cmd . then type ipconfig/release and hit enter. then type ipconfig/renew and hit enter.
 
Okay ill try that now.

What's wierd is, my roommate's wireless network didnt work in the morning and mine worked. And now his works normally and now i keep having issues, kinda strange heh
