My motherboard has a gigabit ethernet port and a normal 10/100 port. Each one will get internet from my router. No matter which one I'm plugged into, I get internet, i can play CS and XFire works, but AIM and MSN both say they can't communicate with the internet. I tried disabling the network connection that i wasn't connected to, but that doesn't help....i switched between gigabit and normal, but that doesn't help. MY firewall's not blocking it, so what could be the problem?

Did you forward the correct ports in your router?

Um...Do you have to forward ports for MSN and AIM? I thought you only had to do it for torrent programs, some games, etc. to make them run faster.

Try turning the router firewall off.

i dont know if that is a good idea,.. but thats me :o

anyway.. make sure you havnt set the ports used byt AIM and MSN forwarded to some other pc.. because then you will not revieve info from those ports anymore,.. so it wouldnt work :)
