Internet Access Through Network Problem

PLEASE HELP ME!!!! I AM THICK!!!!!

OK I have a problem with accessing the internet via the network.

I CAN access other computer and files its just i cant access the internet, I think it might be one of the wires (brown) in the network cable has split may that be the cause?

Actually, only pairs 2 and 3 (pins 1,2,3,6) are used for standard CAT5e, so that brown pair wouldn’t be a problem if it was indeed split or cut somehow :). You also wouldn't be able to contact your other machines on your LAN if your cable was damaged.

I'd check to make sure that your DNS settings and gateway setting is correct on all of your machines. Setting these IPs should be automatic if you’re using DHCP and the router is the DHCP server. Check your router also to make sure it is functioning correctly. If all looks good and it still doesn't work, reset your router and or modem (if you have one).

I tried to do the automatic IP Address thing, Doesn't work :( All that happens is the connecting icon in the task bar. When i try to repair it it comes up with could not do something with the dns.
 
Seems you have a bad router then. I would try a new one and see if it resolves the problem, If not just go return it.
